چکیده
The aim of this study is to isolate a new bacteriophage with lytic effect against several serogroups Escherichia coli that were isolated from different samples submitted the local hospital laboratory. These are main causative agents bloodstream and urinary tract infections (UTIs) among Gram-negative bacteria. Three isolates E. used as host phages wastewater treatment plant. Eight only three them (EC-BSR1, EC-BSR2, EC-BSR3) considered for further characterization identification. appear belong Myoviridae characterized by icosahedral heads, necks contractile tails tail fibers. Phage EC-BSR1 EC-BSR2 had genome sizes 67.06 68.04 kb, respectively. All lysed 100% was tested in vitro 42.7%, 61.7% 44.7% lyses ECOR collection reference. Phages resistant pH 5 9, phage EC-BSR3 appeared be more than other two an acidic alkaline environment. have pattern homologous DNA fragments after being digested Acc1 EcoR1 restriction enzymes. It concluded these highly isolates.

Isolation and characterization of virulent bacteriophages against Escherichia coli serogroups O1, O2, and O78.
The goal of this study was to isolate and characterize a more complete set of phages that are active against Escherichia coli serogroups O1, O2, and O78, the main causative agents of avian colibacillosis. A mixture of E. coli (O1:K1), (O2:K1), and (O78:K80) was used as a host to isolate phages from wastewater and fecal samples from poultry processing plants. Seven phages were isolated; only 2 o...

In this study, 90 internal organ samples of poultry with symptoms of colibacillosis were obtained from Maragheh poultry farms in East Azerbaijan, Iran. In total, 70 bacterial isolates were confirmed as Escherichia coli (E. coli) strains using standard biochemical tests, and antibiotic sensitivity was determined by the disk diffusion method. Antibiotics used in this study included ampicillin, pe...

Background and Objective: This study was carried out to isolate lytic bacteriophages against Pseudomonas aeruginosa and analyze their biological characteristics and antibacterial effects on other clinical isolates of bacteria. Methods: Isolating two lytic bacteriophages against two strains of P. aeruginosa was carried out using the double-layer agar method. After investigating the antibacteria...

Knowledge of antimicrobial resistance patterns in E. coli, the predominant pathogen associated with urinary tract infections (UTI) is important as a guide in selecting empirical antimicrobial therapy. Methods: To describe the antimicrobial susceptibility of E. coli associated with UTI in a major university hospital in Tehran (Iran), seventy-six clinical isolates of E. coli were studied for susc...
